Petzl I'D-S

The Petzl ID is an industrial self-braking descender (ID stands for Industrial Descender), equipped with an anti-panic function and a safety feature to prevent incorrect installation of the line.

The Petzl ID is a widely used descender for rope access-related work and is also commonly used in rescue kits, line systems and hoists.

Specifications of the Petzl ID-S:

• Multifunctional handle that, depending on the situation, serves to:
  - Controlling the descent with the other hand on the free end of the rope;
  Positioning yourself at the work site without having to place the rope over the device with a stop loop.
• The handle is equipped with the AutoLock system; when the handle is released, it automatically snaps back into the locking position.
• Once the handle is in the locking position, you can still retrieve rope without having to move the handle.
• Equipped with an anti-panic function that activates if the user pulls too hard on the lever: the descent is then automatically slowed down and stopped completely.
• Lock pin with an "error indicator" to prevent accidents caused by incorrect insertion of the rope into the device.
• Features a click-lock system on the mobile side to prevent loss of the device. This also facilitates installation on the rope and rope transfer, as the ID remains attached to the climbing harness during these operations
• Equipped with a tiltable comb to easily pull through excess rope. This also offers the possibility of making a hoisting system reversible and performing short climbs on rope (with a Petzl FootPro foot loop and a Petzl Ascension hand ascender).
• Thanks to an integrated screw, the mobile flank can be locked so that the I'D-S can be integrated into a rescue kit (see illustration)
• Suitable for lowering a heavy load of up to 250 kg (reserved for experienced users only)
• Suitable for ropes with a diameter of 10.0 to 11.5 mm
• Weight: 600 grams
• As an addition to the Petzl ID-S, an additional brake block (open or closed) is available for extra control during descent, for example during a rescue
